Afternoon Tea Outfit

At the weekend it was my Nan's 75th birthday and my mum organised a Afternoon Tea with all the family at a hotel down the road from us. I had been thinking about an outfit a few weeks prior as I was starting to see all the new Spring collections start to hit the shops. With Spring just around the corner and pastel pinks and blues taking over from the khaki and maroons I really wanted to wear something that has a pop of colour. So when I saw these cute baby pink floral trousers on the New Look website... well I just had to have them!

I teamed them with...

Black Duster Jacket: New Look; last season- One of my best buys of last year,  perfect for adding a slight smartness to.
White Top; Primark -I have about 4 of these in different colours, great for layering.
Black Boots; Vagabonds (Urban Outfitters) -All time go to boots, so comfortable and great for giving me much needed height!
Lips; Kiko Velvet Matte Lipstick #613 -my favourite go to lipstick at the moment, similar to Mac 'Spice'.

Take a peek at all these yummy treats!

13 things I learnt while inter-railing

13 things I learnt while inter-railing.

1. European countries charge for ketchup, take a mini bottle with you on your travels.

2. Google maps turn into paper maps.

3. Wifi becomes your best friend.

4. English breakfast tea is sacred.

5. Bringing one pair of socks for each day is unnecessary.

6. Breaking the handle on your suitcase 5 days in, is ultimately one of the worst things possible.

7. The amount of outfits you can make with 2 tops and 2 pairs of leggings is pretty impressive.

8. Waking up early is easier when you're abroad.

9. All cheese comes with ham and all tuna comes with egg.

10. Sweetcorn is classed as a 'roasted vegetable'.

11. Free walking tours are the bomb; explore the city for free and perfect for getting your barrings of your new surroundings.

12. Planning isn't spontaneous, but it does mean that you get the most out of your travels.

13. Sleeping on the train is out of the question, you will always wake up with a neck ache or numb hand/leg.

W7 Loads of Lashes

I came across this W7 product a few weeks ago but I've only just managed to get my hands on it. Loads of Lashes is simply a mascara style brush but instead of applying mascara it applies pieces of fibre that build up your lashes and lengthening them as if you are wearing false eyelashes! The idea is to apply a layer of mascara, the apply the fibres and then apply another layer of mascara. Below is a picture of my eyes lashes, in the left picture my eyes lashes have my normal W7 mascara 'Absolute Lashes' and the right picture has 'Loads of Lashes'.
I'm super impressed with Loads of Lashes it definitely makes a huge different to my lashes and it's so much easier than using false eyelashes- well I'm rubbish at applying them! So if your looking for some gorgeous flirty lashes, get yourself some Loads of Lashes asap!

One 'bad' meal...

Hi bloggers,
How are you all doing!

This post is going to take a different sort of approach, it's not about fashion or beauty, it's about food! It has mainly been inspired by one of my favourite food quotes...

'One 'bad' meal won't make you fat and one 'good' meal won't make you skinny.'

Over the last three years at uni my weight has slowly creeped up, snacking on a packet of crisps, a can of coke and a bar of chocolate were the three comfort foods that got me through my degree. While sat in front of my computer in the library I would happily munch munch away and if I'm being completely honest it was one of the only things that I looked forward to when going to library.

However 3 months ago I decided it was time for a change. I know that I am not fat and I never have been, my BMI is pretty average for my height but being  the small 5 ft 1 that I am I could see that I was getting a little plumper! But lets get one thing straight first... before some of you jump to conclusion and say 'you should be happy the way you are' or 'you're being peer pressured by images in the media' if you actually know me then you know that I'm not one to fall for peer pressure. Plus considering I have just studied media for 3 years at uni I'm pretty clued up everything the media does and all their tricks. I am not trying to conform to 'societies' idea of the 'perfect body' as there isn't 'perfect body'. I am not doing this for my boyfriend or friends because I know that they love me for the way I am. I am doing this for myself, because I want to be healthy, because I want to feed my body with goodness.

What I have changed

When I was at uni I never used to make time for breakfast and that's probably because I normally slept into about 1 in the afternoon! But now interning full time this has given me alot more structure and routine to my day and meal times. Every morning I make sure I have time for that bowl of Special K.

I used to eat carbs for breakfast (when I got up early enough) carbs for lunch and carbs for dinner. However I now hardly eat any carbs, only really on my cheat days. From cutting out carbs not only do I not feel so bloated, but it has also allowed me to realise that in fact my digestive system isn't a great fan of them either as when I do have them I tend to get stomach cramps! One bad thing about cutting out carbs is tiredness and less energy but that can be brought back up through fruit and veg.

I haven't cut anything out completely, I just eat in moderation and I now know how to control myself. Before I could easily eat a whole packet of biscuits but now after I've had one I'm done. If I want the chocolate, I let myself have the chocolate. If I want some cake, I let myself have the cake. I don't starve myself from my cravings I just find a healthier alternative.

I tend to let myself have one day of eating whatever I want, whether that be at the weekend or one day during the week when I'm going out with friends or just having a slob day at home. It's good to change up your eating habits as this gives your body a shock from your normal routine and kick starts your metabolism again.

I am definitely not a girl that weighs themselves on a daily/weekly or monthly basis. Actually to be honest I don't even know what I weigh now or what I weighed before I changed my eating habits. In fact I don't actually want to know. If I feel good in what I'm wearing then I'm happy.

The 6.

1. Don't DIET! Eat Healthy and give your body all the vitamins and minerals you need.
2. Don't worry, remember NO body is perfect.
3. Don't let the media influence your decisions about what you eat or what you look like. Remember this is all about you.
4. Do have have cheat days!
5. Do give yourself some chocolate. A girl has gotta have chocolate! (treat yourself to a couple of squares a night)
6. Do be happy, you are beautiful.

And ohh boy that Bill's burger I had today was delicious!

W7 Make up Review

Recently I have been trying out a few products from the W7 make up range so I thought that I would do a quick review of a few of my favourite products as not only are they reasonable priced the range also does some great dupes on items of more expensive brands.

W7 Chunky Bronzer- I've been wanted to try a bronzer stick for a while as they are great for contouring and for giving you the perfect cheek bones. I've had my eye on a the NARS Bronzing Stick for a while but at £30 I just couldn't quite justify buying it. So when I came across the W7 Chunky Bronzer I just had to have it! At £4.95 it is a pretty good dupe of the NARS bronzer and definitely does the job of defining your cheek bones.

Angel Eyes- I don't wear eye shadow much but I love the neutral colours that this eye palet has, they really help to give your eyes a little pop and add a bit of glamour.

City Slicker Eye Make up Remover- I absolutely love this! A lot of eye makeup removers that I have used before by other brands I haven't really liked. This is mainly because they were quite oily making my eye lids and lashes feel greasy after and often irritated my eyes. However this eye remover isn't oily at all and takes off my eye make up like a dream! One quick splash on a cotton wool pad and a quick wipe on my eyes and my make up is removed.

Have you tired any W7 make up recently? Let me know what you think!

My Weekend- Mini Haul

This weekend just gone I popped out to lunch with my nan, after having our sandwich and tea in M&S we always have a little mooch round the shops. I only picked up a few items as I'm trying not to spend too much money at the moment, but we all need a bit of retail therapy once in a while!
If you know me then you know that I love a good bargain, I hardly ever buy anything that doesn't have a price discount.

My Purchases:-
H&M Long Sleeve, Navy Stripped top.
Originally £12.99 but I got it for a fiver! Bloody Bargain I say! Stripes come in fashion and go out of fashion quicker than you can say Jack Robinson. I thought this would be great for autumn, as the material is really soft and thin so will be great to wear under thicker jumpers.

Accessorize Long Silver Spiked Necklace. This was a bit of an impulse buy really, I don't have that any long necklaces and wanted one to wear with plain tops as they allow you to dress an outfit up but not as much as a statement necklace would. Again this was on sale, reduced from £12 to £3.60.

Measureable Difference- Amplyfing Lash and Brow Serum £3.99 & Measureable Difference- Liquid Eyeliner £2.99.
I picked up these two products from TKMaxx, I could literally spend hours in there looking at all the beauty products. You can find some great buys and more often than not designer make up items that are half of the price! Again these were a bit of an impulse buy, I needed a new eyeliner and I liked the idea of a serum that would apparently strength my lashes and brows.

So far I'm really impressed with the liquid eye liner, the thin brush allows me to make perfect flicks on my eye lids. However I do get quite watereyes in general and the eyeliner smudges easily which is a bit unfortunately.
On the other hand I'm not hugely impressed with the serum, again the brush is really thin and I'm a little uncertain on how to make the most of the product through application, maybe a mascara style brush would have been better to allow the product to be applied more successfully. Anyways I'm going to stick with it for a bit longer and see whether it does make a difference to the strength and look of my eyelashes and eyebrows.

Have you got any of these items? Or have I tempted you to buy one of them?
Let me know!
